FTI bankruptcy

On June 3, 2024, FTI Touristik GmbH, the third-largest tour operator in Germany and one of the leading ones in Europe, filed for insolvency. Also, on June 6, 2024, BigXtra Touristik GmbH filed for the opening of insolvency proceedings on June 6, 2024, followed by the French tour operator's insolvency application on June 10, 2024. FTI Voyages S.A.S. followed. All services booked with the travel provider FTI Touristik are affected by this. This includes the brand FTI in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and France, the 5vorFlug brand in Germany, BigXtra Touristik GmbH, as well as the car rental brands DriveFTI, Cars&Campers and Meeting Point Rent-a-Car.

All package tours and hotel bookings with a departure date up to and including July 5, 2024, will be canceled by FTI with the German Travel Security Fund (DRSF) assuming the protection. For trips from July 6, 2024, FTI is striving to proceed as planned. If this is not possible, the DRSF will also step in. FTIto enable the event to go ahead as planned. If this is not possible, the DRSF will also apply here.

If your trip has been canceled or you are already on the road, you should inform yourself now so that you can file a claim with the FTI Touristik GmbH and other stakeholders.

Thanks to our close cooperation with international litigation funding companies, we are able to pursue claims for our clients in certain cases without any financial risk for the client. In such constellations, the costs are borne by the litigation funder in return for a success fee.

We are currently in contact with various litigation funding companies to support injured parties in asserting their claims without any cost risk. As litigation funders only provide funding if they themselves consider the case to be promising, the injured parties then even have a double assessment of the success of their case.
